About Me

Hiccup has a bum leg. It's likely she was hit by a car at some point during her life. As a result, she has had an FHO surgery to repair the damage, and should be good as new in no time. Because she's had that bad leg for so long, the surgery hasn't slowed her down at all-- she can navigate stairs, couches, and cars with pretty much no trouble whatsoever.

Hiccup knows all about toys, couches, and laps even though she was picked up as a stray in Athens, GA. She likes to play with stuffed toys and seems to get the basic idea of fetch, but also likes to nap nearby while her foster parents work (or look at Facebook). She LOVES belly rubs, and will fling herself dramatically to the floor by way of demanding them. If that doesn't work, she'll press her body against you until you relent and cuddle her. She has been happy to meet everyone, and while we haven't tested her with children yet, I'd be very surprised if they were an issue-- she doesn't mind having her feet, tails, or ears meddled with. Of course, any homes with kids should keep her recent surgery in mind.

Hiccup is also potty trained and loves her crate. She puts herself to bed at 8pm, like we all dream of doing. Hiccup would be great in just about any home, but I think she'd be extra great for someone who works from home (so she can nap dutifully at your feet), someone who wants a walking buddy (she should be ready for short walks in the next week, and long walks in the next month or so), or someone who just wants a constant companion. She is fine being separated from her person-- no real crying and perhaps just a bark or two-- but it's clear that she's happiest when she's by your side, or at the very least, on a nearby chair.
